Why don’t you include interior casing with your doors?

We do not include interior casing with our door units for several important reasons:

  1. Interior casing is not part of the door unit: Casing is considered part of the trim package and is typically installed by your trim carpenter during the final stages of interior finish work. This applies to both interior and exterior doors, whether supplied by us or any other provider. The same is true for windows. Casing is a separate component from the door unit itself.
  2. Trim styles vary by region and project: There is no universal casing profile. Designs can differ significantly by region, architectural style, and customer preference. Because of this variation, it would be impossible to stock or supply a casing that works for every project. Most builders or trim carpenters select and install casing that matches the rest of the home’s interior trim.
  3. Trim carpenters handle casing throughout the home: In nearly all projects, trim carpenters are responsible for installing casing around all doors and windows to ensure consistency in style and finish. They typically source this material locally to match the home’s interior design.
  4. For arched doors: Most customers use flexible trim products, often referred to as “flex trim,” which can be curved to fit the shape of the arch. This material is also supplied and installed by the trim carpenter as part of the broader trim package.

For these reasons, we focus on providing high-quality door units and leave the casing selection and installation to the trim professionals best equipped to match your project’s specific needs.
